Backstory: One beautiful day, a queen finally gave birth to her kits. Two got sick the next day and died. There was only one left. That kit was Heather. When Heather was old enough to walk, she was told her father had to go somewhere. She waited for him, but he never came back. She was often telling jokes to herself and others to keep her from being sad. One day, her friend came to talk to her. When Heather heard what she had to say, her tail drooped. Heather looked at her friend in disbelief. Then Heather decided that she shouldn't believe her friends nonsense. "He will come back, you'll see," whispered Heather. "How do you know?," said her friend. "Go," Heather looked up. "Go already! You aren't welcome here anymore!," spat Heather. She jumped up and scratched the unexpecting friend. She flicked her tail in the direction of the exit. Her friend ran away, regretting even bothering to tell her what she thinks. That's why people know why not to make her mad. She grew up learning from her mother, though she still had hope her dad would come back.

  Her tail was on the floor. Full of scratches. Her mother walked in. "What are you doing here, inside?," her mother asked. "My tail hurts... I just want to rest," Heather replied quietly. "Alright," Her mother said, looking down at her. "But you'll miss your chance to walk on ice. The thaw is coming tomorrow." Heather's eyes shined, "really?..." "Yes. It's to bad you're not coming... I was looking forward to going with you."
  Heather playfully wacked her with a paw and sighed. "Alright..." Her childish mother smiled and laughed, "And I'm pretty sure your tail won't affect you in this state. It's still there, so your fine! Want to race?" Her mother ran ahead. Heather quickly caught up, and they both ran off together.
